Teacups and Roses

Today I am sharing a bouquet of roses with you.

Some on teacups, some in pictures.

These were growing in my mother's garden.
She has a yard full of roses.

There is something elegant about roses...something romantic, and special.

They have a lovely fragrance. Can you smell it?

I don't even mind that they have thorns.
They are there as reminders to handle them gently and carefully.

"Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns;
I am thankful that thorns have roses." ~ Alphonse Karr

On dark winter days when the roses are nothing more than bare sticks in the garden,
I have a bouquet of teacups in full bloom waiting for me in the china cabinet.

I hope you have time today to stop and smell the roses along the way.

And sit down for a little rest.

And have a cup of tea.

Blessings!

"Your soul shall be like a well watered garden."
 Jeremiah 31:12

  1. Hi Charlotte,
that is such a pretty post. I love roses everywhere, in the garden, on the china, as parfum and surely in my flatware. You own a lot of wonderful china with roses.
    Best greetings, Johanna

  3. Hello Charlotte,
Your roses and teacups are so lovely. I love them in the garden, in a vase, and on china too. They are nature's most perfect flower, I think. I love them in all colours and I haven't met one I haven't loved. And I agree with Mr. Karr's quote about the thorns. Thank you for sharing your lovely post.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  11. Can we ever have too many rose patterned tea cups, I don't think so. Your cups are so pretty and although I'm very fond of pink, I love the yellow one. x
